Welcome to The Engineer’s Cookbook – a blog dedicated to applying an engineering approach to cooking!
I was inspired to start this blog because of both my love of food and cooking and using engineering and project management techniques in a traditionally non-engineering field.
What I’m trying to create on this website is a place where Engineers, technicians, scientists and anybody with an interest in cooking can come and explore different approaches, techniques, tips, tricks and hacks associated with cooking.
We’re just starting up so any advice, feedback or comments to make this site better are always welcome!
I’m originally from Ballarat, Australia but now I’m living in Plymouth, UK.
I’ve been an engineer for more than 10 years and have spent the majority of my career to date working for large blue-chip food manufacturers. I’ve worked with Cheese, Potato Crisps/Chips, Chocolate Bars, Chewing Gum, Peanut Butter, Mayonnaise and Salad Dressings.
I’ve got a huge passion for food in general. I love cooking and come from a family that is obsessed with food (my sister trained as a chef and my dad had his own restaurant and spent his career in the food industry). My wife and I love cooking and entertaining, as well as trying new restaurants in the UK, especially around where we live in Devon and Cornwall.
